Many Moons (in production)

In the county which once boasted it was “free of Chinamen,” Chinese community members search for those who may have survived Humboldt's 1885 expulsion and 60 years of enforced exclusion– the only known survivor being Charlie Moon, whose descendants are Hoopa, Yurok, Karuk, and Resighini tribal members. Shot against a growing backdrop of rising white nationalism, "Many Moons" formally experiments with both documentary and fictional elements to bring past ghosts from Humboldt County’s expulsion into the present– resisting erasure, troubling the archive, and forging new solidarities.
